Stanford Center for Professional Development

Stanford Center for Professional Development offers Stanford graduate programs and courses in engineering, computer science, bioinformatics, medical informatics, and engineering management via state-of-the-art interactive delivery systems.

Stanford classes on streaming video can be viewed by registered students over the Web. To view these courses go to Stanford Center for Professional Development. The computer cluster and the two computers under the stairs on the library's first floor are equipped with headphones for course viewing.

Free Public Online Seminars

During the autumn, winter and spring quarters, the Stanford Center for Professional Development makes it possible for the public to view a series of free seminars on a broad range of topics.

The weekly seminars feature presentations by distinguished Stanford faculty, senior researchers and industry experts. They are available for viewing online via streaming video.

The required registration gives you access to the seminars and sets a cookie allowing you to bypass the registration page when you return. As part of the registration process, you have the opportunity to join the mailing list to stay informed of new offerings on subjects of interest to you. SCPD does not rent or otherwise release its mailing list.

Stanford Engineering Everywhere (SEE)

http://see.stanford.edu/

SEE launches its programming by offering one of Stanford’s most popular sequences: the three-course Introduction to Computer Science taken by the majority of Stanford’s undergraduates and seven more advanced courses in artificial intelligence and electrical engineering.

Stanford Engineering Everywhere offers:
  • Anytime and anywhere access to complete lecture videos via streaming or downloaded media.
  • Full course materials including syllabi, handouts, homework, and exams.
  • Online social networking with fellow SEE students.
  • Support for PCs, Macs and mobile computing devices.

Stanford encourages fellow educators to use Stanford Engineering course materials in their own classrooms. A Creative Commons license allows for free and open use, reuse, adaptation and redistribution of Stanford Engineering Everywhere material.
