Reference and Instruction
Reference Consultation: Library staff are available for individual or group consultations by appointment or during reference hours to provide help with
library research and to assist
in finding and accessing information not owned by the Library.
E-mail and Online Reference: Questions and requests for assistance can be sent to the Reference E-mail account . Expect an answer within one business day.
Reference is offered equally to Stanford faculty, staff, and students
from any department on campus, as well as to onsite UC faculty and students.
Visitors are welcome to use the collection, however, limited reference
service is available to visitors.
Instruction and Tours: Tours of the Library, group and
individual instruction, and specialized training in engineering information
sources can be arranged by contacting a Librarian.
Document Delivery
Stanford faculty and students can borrow books or request documents
from other libraries through:

form for books, dissertations/theses, technical reports, government
documents, maps, videos, etc.
Article form for articles from periodicals, conference proceedings,
plus book chapters, etc.
