Bowes Art & Architecture Library Updates during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Request materials from the Bowes Art & Architecture Library via SearchWorks for pick up in Green Library. This service is available to the following current Stanford ID cardholders: undergraduate students, graduate students, post-docs, professors (including emeriti), staff, fellows, and Stanford visiting scholars. The Bowes Art & Architecture Library remains closed to onsite visits.
Art Library Locked Stacks materials are available to request online for use in the Green Library Special Collections Department. Access to Special Collections is by appointment only, restricted to the following Stanford ID cardholders: Stanford professors (including emeriti), post-docs, graduate students, fellows, and Stanford visiting scholars. You must first request materials in SearchWorks. Once your materials arrive, you will be able to schedule an appointment to visit the Special Collections reading room in Green Library.
The East Asia Library is currently hosting an online exhibition of student work from the Stanford Continuing Studies course ART221: The Art of Chinese Brush Painting, taught by Felix Chan Lim, Ph.D. and Bobbi Makani, Ph.D.
In recent years, Prof. Elizabeth Kessler’s American Studies course, “StarStuff: Space and the American Imagination,” brought students into our Special Collections Barchas Room for hands-on viewings of antiquarian astronomy texts, 19th century lithographs and planispheres, scientific literature, and contemporary fine art photography.
