Digital collections now viewable in SearchWorks
Today marks a major milestone in Stanford University LIbraries' ability to provide easy and seamless access to digital collections. As of today, digital collections will begin appearing in SearchWorks, the Libraries' discovery interface. This means that collections can be discovered in the course of searching and browsing through the totality of Stanford's library collection.
Terman Library launches new website
Terman Engineering Library has a new homepage, check it out. We updated and revised our content to meet our users needs. This includes an expanded list of online resources, an updated technology section with information about our Kindle lending, Gadget bar and available software.
Solar House going up near Terman Park
The walls are going up on the Stanford Start.Home, a student-designed and built zero-emissions house next to Terman Park. Walk by and see them at work or track the progress on Facebook.
Later this summer, the team will practice dismantling and re-assembling the house in preparation for the Solar Decathalon competition, which will be held in October in Irvine, Calif.
SDR Deposit of the Week: Selections from University Archives
It should come as no surprise that University Archives is brimming with a diverse body of digital content gathered from all corners of Stanford, files documenting student life, campus affairs, and the administration of the University. Since his introduction to SDR Self-Deposit, University Archivist Daniel Hartwig has made frequent use of the system to preserve and provide access to these historic materials. LibDevConX^4: Library Developers from across the world descend on Stanford during Spring Break
This week, while things were otherwise quiet at Stanford due to Spring Break, 35 technologists from 20 institutions* descended upon Stanford for our annual library developers' (un)conference: LibDevConX, hosted by SUL's Digital Library Systems & Services group. For the fourth year in a row, the event brought together some of the best and brightest technical experts from different places with like concerns, to explore needs, common solutions, and learn from each others' innovations. Special Collections Receives Grant from the American Institute of Physics
The Stanford University Department of Special Collections and University Archives has been awarded a grant from the Center for History of Physics, American Institute of Physics (AIP), to process the papers of physicists Karl P. Cohen and Martin Packard, along with sizeable portion of the papers of William Shockley.
Stephen Henry Schneider Papers Project Underway
