Thinking about access and use on #AskAnArchivist Day

The Society of American Archivists has established October 2nd as #AskAnArchivist Day, focused on outreach through answering questions posted to Twitter with the hashtag #AskAnArchivist. The Lighting the Way project team sees this a great opportunity to reach out to the archives and special collections community around starting to think about the big questions facing our project. Funded by the IMLS, Lighting the Way focuses on facilitating a series of national conversations around improving access and use to archives and special collections, particularly in terms of thinking about how systems that support access and use work together. To that end, we'd love to hear answers to questions like the following:

  • How have you been the most successful in providing access and use to archives and special collections?
  • What are the biggest challenges that you face in terms of access and use to archives and special collections?
  • How do the systems you use to support access and use relate to these successes and challenges?

Share your thoughts with us on Twitter with the #AskAnArchivist and #LTWForum hashtags (or mention our Twitter handle, @LTWForum, too!), or contact the project team with your answers. We look forward to hearing from you!
