Ashley Jester is the Bibliographer for Mathematics and Statistics

Ashley Jester, the Assistant Director in the Science and Engineering Resource Group (SERG), is now the Bibliographer for Mathematics and Statistics.  In this position she selects and manages collections of books, journals, and other materials in print and digital formats in mathematics and statistics for Stanford Libraries.  She is the primary contact person for reference questions in these disciplines and leads user education activities related to information tools for mathematics and statistics. 

In her position as the Assistant Director, which she assumed on February 1, Ashley manages the staff and operations of the Terman Engineering and Li and Ma Science Libraries, and participates in the management and planning for SERG.  Ashley holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford with a strong concentration in applied statistics. She served as the Head of Stanford Libraries’ Social Science Data and Software (SSDS), and previously as the Data Services Coordinator and Head of Quantitative and Qualitative Data for Columbia University Libraries. 

In addition to her background in applied statistics, she brings to her role a strong interest in data services, expertise in a variety of software and programming languages, and experience with research services and advanced research methods.
