UN Day marks the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter, the founding document of the Organization. Signed in San Francisco by 51 Member States, the Charter lays out the main goals of the United Nations to maintain international peace and security, to protect human rights, to promote sustainable development, to deliver humanitarian aid, and to uphold international law.

On Friday, October 25th, 2019, there will be an Open House featuring newly-acquired manuscripts and rare books in the Barchas Room of the Special Collections Department of Green Library from 11:00am-2:00pm.
