In the summer of 2023, Stanford students can choose between eight different internship opportunities in Estonia and Latvia, offered by the Global Studies Internship Program. The Baltic portion of the Global Studies Internship Program is hosted by SGS and co-sponsored by Stanford Libraries and Vabamu.

Stanford University Libraries, The Europe Center, FSI's Program on Geopolitics, Technology, and Governance, Hoover Institution Library & Archives, and Stanford's Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, in collaboration with Vabamu, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, and Tallinn University of Technolgy are pleased to announce that Dr. Marek Tamm, Dr. Holger Mölder, Dr. Ingrid Pappel, and Dr.
Kyungmi Chun is retiring after almost sixteen years of service to Stanford Libraries and its users. When she joined Stanford in 2007 as Korean Studies Librarian, the Korean Collection was in its inception, having only been established in 2005. During her time at Stanford, Kyungmi built a world-class collection from ground-up. Her work has been an integral part in the growth of the Korean Studies program at Stanford. She has supported the faculty and students, especially graduate students, in Korean Studies. Previously, Kyungmi served as the Korean Studies Librarian at the University of
Contours of an Invisible City envisions Rome as a multiverse of sorts – an ancient metropolis teeming with phantasms and histories. Pairing guidebooks from the 16th-20th centuries with a new series of photographs by non-fiction photographer Kieran Dodds, the exhibition invites reflection on the palimpsest of invisible cities that are Rome.

Stanford Libraries and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability (SDSS) are delighted to announce that Christine (Chrissy) Garcia will be joining Stanford Libraries on November 14, 2022 as the Geoscience Specimen Collections Curator and Manager. This unique position sits within the Libraries, but will be responsible for managing the rock, mineral, and paleontology collections for the School. This collaboration will combine the expertise of both groups with active faculty input on the historical and contemporaneous collections and the libraries deep knowledge of material management, metadata standards, physical and digital preservation, and digitization workflows.
Thanks to hard work by the Infrastructure Team from Stanford Libraries' Digital Libraries Systems and Services group, the self-deposit web application for the Stanford Digital Repository (SDR) just got a bit of a spiffing up for the new school year.
