East Asia Library acquires several large new Western-language databases

The East Asia Library has recently purchased several important database collections of Western-language historical materials that are now available for Stanford users to access.  These databases include documents digitized from collections held at the British Library, the Second Historical Archives of China, and a number of other libraries and archives.

Welcoming new graduate students in Science and Engineering

Music Bibliographer Mimi Tashiro retiring

Mimi Tashiro, Music Bibliographer, has announced her retirement from Stanford Libraries beginning September 21. Mimi is incredibly devoted and loyal to Stanford University having spent her entire career of just over thirty-eight years as a distinguished music librarian at the Stanford Music Library.

(BTW - I have been informed that this is a neutral bear, not the Cal bear.)

Our small library community in Redwood City is saying goodbye to another colleague.

It is with a very heavy heart that we say goodbye to our amazing colleague Michelle Paquette - we wish her all the best in her new position at Smith College Libraries.
