The Silicon Valley Archives welcome Kristen Valenti

Kristen Valenti will join the Silicon Valley Archives (SVA) in the new position of Exhibits Coordinator, effective 1 September.  The SVA is a unit of the History of Science & Technology Collections in the Humanities and Area Studies Resource Group; we will be located in Hohbach Hall when it opens in January 2022, alongside the very exhibit space that Kristen will manage.

The Lighting the Way project team is pleased to announce a webinar on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 8:00 AM PDT as part of Works in Progress: An OCLC Research Occasional Webinar Series. The webinar is free to attend and open to all with advance registration. This webinar will be of interest to library and archive workers, those who manage and allocate resources to special collections, and those who are considering new modes of meeting facilitation and collaboration.

2021 Wreden Prize celebrates student book collecting

This spring Stanford Libraries celebrated student book collecting with of the Wreden Prize for Collecting Books and Related Materials. The biennial Wreden Prize showcases the creative and passionate love of book collecting by undergraduate and graduate students at Stanford. Participating students each submit a bibliography of items in their collection, along with an essay detailing the history and significance of the collection.
