The Stanford Music Library and Archive of Recorded Sound employ Federal Work-Study funded students in various positions throughout the year. Learn more about the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program at Stanford.
Non-FWS students can be hired on a quarterly basis when funding permits.
Circulation and Stacks Assistant (Music Library--Federal Work Study preferred)
Student assigned to sort and re-shelve returned library materials; provide backup at the circulation desk; shelf reading and stacks shifts as needed, and other projects as needed. For more information, contact Vincent Kang.
Archive Acquisitions Processing Assistant (Archive of Recorded Sound)
Student assists with the maintenance and shelving of archival collections; assists with preparation of items for preservation storage; assists with the processing of audio and video recordings and archival print materials including sorting, organizing, cleaning, shelving, and weeding out duplicate materials; maintaining acquisition statistics; assists with other facilities and collection maintenance duties as assigned. Technical Services Assistant (Music Library)
Student provides support to the cataloging/acquisitions department in the Music Library; searches bibliographic databases for cataloged records (scores & musical sound recordings; may involve musical visual materials); selects bibliographic records based on predetermined criteria; transfers bibliographic records into local database; assists with other duties as assigned. Available positions will be posted on Handshake.
