As part of the Stanford Media Preservation Lab team, I coordinate the flow of audio-visual library materials to and from our facility in Redwood City. The majority of our work originates from four clients: University Archives, the Archive of Recorded Sound, Media Microtext, and Special Collections. When an item reaches our lab, I shepherd it through its analog to digital lifecycle with the assistance of our audio and video specialists. That work can involve item triage, photography, metadata, quality control, vendor relations, and accessioning into the Stanford Digital Repository.
