About the center
Our Center is open between 1-5, Monday through Friday, in Green Library (Unless closed for classes, check our website).
- Would you like to visit the Center and utilize our technology? Wonderful, you do not need to make an appointment! Please note that if you do not have an active Stanford University ID, you will need to register at the Green Library entrance with a government-issued photo ID. More information on library admittance may be found on the Green Library’s Visitor Information page.
- Interested in viewing physical materials? Please request items first through SearchWorks. Once your materials are ready, you will be notified by email to schedule an appointment.
Looking to arrange a tour or workshop with a class or group? Please email the Center staff at firstname.lastname@example.org. Due to high demand for the Center's services this year, it will not be always possible to honor requests from non-Stanford groups.
Original + Digital
The Center opened in 2016 and provides a unique research, teaching, and learning environment where the antiquarian and modern converge. We have two wall-sized, high-resolution screens to help our visitors fully investigate items from our collection. You can expand and zoom into oversized digital copies, while viewing the original document at the same time. We welcome students, faculty, and members of the public to come visit us, explore our collection, see our exhibitions, and learn about historic maps.
