Access and privileges
Continuing Studies (CSP) affiliates
Instructors may apply for a Stanford Libraries Card 30 days before their class starts (or sooner, by CSP's special request to Privileges). To apply, visit Privileges in Green Library with course dates and a government-issued ID.
Library privileges are determined by the length of the CSP course.
Students in CSP courses at least 5 weeks long
Students may purchase a Stanford Libraries Card on or after the start date of the course. Please show confirmation of enrollment and a valid government-issued photo ID to the Circulation Desk at Green Library. The card has a 25-item check-out limit and a one-time $10 card fee. We only accept cash or check. Library privileges last one week after the course ends.
Students in CSP courses three to four weeks long
Students are granted physical library access with a valid ID and a confirmation enrollment letter or electronic copy. No borrowing privileges are granted.
Students in CSP courses less than three weeks long
No library access or borrowing privileges beyond the free seven days offered to all public visitors.
Please note: All CSP affiliates are not eligible for off-campus access to library-restricted electronic resources (but may use public computers inside the Libraries for access), interlibrary borrowing, or lockers/carrels in Green Library.
